MSN Masters, Military Nurse, FNP Healthcare Mgmt

November 21, 2014

I am applying to your distinguished program at XXXX University because I see it as the best fit for my high level of motivation and extensive professional responsibility. I also feel strongly that my personal nursing philosophy is well aligned with the mission of your program with respect to diversity and service to the underserved. I am a career soldier in the US military and an independent thinker and doer who completed her Bachelor’s in Health Care Management on-line at the same time that I excelled at my military duties. A lifelong learner with a great deal of drive and discipline, I have become a master at making education my first priority. My ultimate goal in life is to continue to give back to my community to the fullest extent possible by promoting health and wellness as a Family Nurse Practitioner. John Wesley described my own personal philosophy of nursing best when he said: “Let me do all the good I can, to all the people I can, as often as I can, for I shall not pass through this way again.”

My professional drive to become a nurse began as soon as I entered the military and began working at McAfee Army Health Clinic at White Sands Missile Range, NM. Now that I have finished my BSN and have experience as an RN, I feel it is time for me to go to graduate school because I want to do more with my nursing abilities. I want to become a professional devotee of the nursing care model of health, providing education and preventive care, making diagnosis and helping to develop treatment plans, prescribing medication, ordering diagnostic tests, gathering medical histories, and performing physical exams. It is critically important to me that I give my all to helping to provide care to diverse populations. The Army has helped me to increasingly appreciate the importance of diversity over the years, especially for the nursing professional.

I have been serving my country as a member of the armed forces for the past 16 years, all in a health related capacity. I earned my first undergraduate degree in Health Care Management in 2008 and then went on to study nursing, earning my BS in Nursing in 2012. Shortly after becoming an RN in 2012, I began my current position as an Army Medical-Surgical Nurse at XXXX Medical Center where I help attend to a broad variety of different co-morbid conditions. I now serve as a team leader for my shift and this has profoundly inspired me as never before to give my all to nursing. I am at a point in my career where I have unprecedented maturity and the personal freedom to excel professionally; thus, I am very much looking forward to a complete immersion in graduate studies in nursing. In particular, as a future FNP, I look forward to learning a great deal about the full range of models and methodologies in nursing care and education along with the role of the nurse in preventive care. I also hope to continue and build upon my special interest in nursing care in response to natural disasters.

My desire to become a FNP stems from my inner motivation and passion to make a difference in patient’s lives.  I especially look forward to providing preventative care, empowering individuals to take charge of their own health.  I have extensive experience as a medical assistant in the Army and I have made great sacrifices along the way to become a nurse. After becoming a commissioned officer in 2008, I had to take a cut in rank and pay in order to work as an RN, but this is what I love. There is simply nothing that fulfills me as much as serving as an advocate for m patients, especially those who are in pain. Sometimes on my days off, I find myself calling up my patients who have been discharged from the hospital to see how they are feeling. I particularly thrive on consoling families in the last minutes of their loved ones life; I even help them with funeral arrangements. I thank you for considering my application to your distinguished program at XXXX University.

Working together as a team we strive to create the best personal statement possible, to give you an advantage over other applicants to nursing school. I am an experienced professional who has read and edited thousands of  Personal Statements and Statements of Purpose. Most editing services only focus on the technical aspects of the statements: grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Instead, I consider the more important aspects; personal tone, flow, and content. Most importantly, I help you express your creative ideas with respect to your long term goals and your contribution to humanity and society. The final product of my editing may be the beginning of your professional success, a solid investment in your future.

I have been drafting statements on behalf of nurses now for the past 20 years. Writing statements is not always fun, and the older I get the more mental and emotional energy it takes for me to do a good job. This is one of the reasons why I have developed a priority focus on nurses, writing more statements in this area than any other, because I admire the dedication of nurses, their orientation of service and giving. Nurses are generally among the finest people on the planet, on human and emotional levels, because of their ethic of service. Thus, when I help a nurse succeed, I am inspired by her/his story.

I have spent many years investigating what makes a Statement for admission to nursing school as effective as possible, what programs and institutions in the area of nursing are looking for in applicants: specific qualities, interests, and characteristics--all of which I will emphasize in your essay. Character is especially critical and I am an expert at making you look exceptional. It is all in the wording and I like to think I have a natural gift for statement expression. My own special strength is in the emotional eloquence of nursing. I admit that on a few occasions, tears well up in my eyes while writing a statement for nursing school; it is a most enriching experience and I count myself most privileged.
